Fedora 19 vesa driver

It uses a x resolution on an unknown display instead of the x of the existing display. But I can’t able to change the display resolution from the previously set configuration. In another laptop with intel cpu (integrated graphics), I can able to change the resolution. Is there any way to solve this problem? The pc having this problem is a thinkpad E14 gen3 (amd).
